Her last two films didn’t exactly do wonders for her at the box office. What she probably needed was a little bit of magic....Yes, for Rani Mukherjee, playing a fairy in her soon-to-be-released film Thoda Pyar... Thoda Magic (TPTM) is nothing short of magical. Especially as it requires her to fly in the sky and ride a cycle some 60-80 feet above ground!
Super excited about this one-of-its kind role that also likens her to Krrish, Rani shares, “It was very exciting to fly in the sky and see things from a bird’s eye and it’s a nice blend of fantasy and reality. The only difficult thing is that you have to get used to the harness and it can get tiring. Though actors are used to it, as they do action scenes, but for me it was quite an adventurous experience.”
And a change from the stereotypical ‘rona-dhona’ roles the actress had been doing of late. “I guess for the first time, I won’t use any glycerine for this angel’s character and you won’t see me crying for a single moment. I am smiling throughout the film and I enjoyed this happy-go-lucky role.”
Having shared screen space with two kids earlier in Tara Ram Pam , Rani says it was even more thrilling to work with four kids for this flick.
“I genuinely love kids so much. They have great energy in them, which is so contagious that we also start jumping and play around while shooting on the sets. But when it’s work, they are so professional, well behaved and disciplined that even we were shocked.”
Ask her how she related herself with these kids and pat comes a reply, “The way they eat! This was the only point where I could identify myself with them. Right from ice-cream to chips to all that so-called forbidden junk food I ate all on the sets. And honestly, I must have put on some 3 kgs but there is no wish to add more!”
Stating that she was a very sincere and well behaved child, we asked Rani how she would want ‘her’ kids to be like and here’s what she had to say.
“Oh dear, it’s a long way for that. I still have to find a guy to date and then I’ll see whether I want to marry him or not. After marrying, we’ll plan whether to have kids or not. Once they grow up and if they are tall, beautiful, then we’ll decide whether have the talent to be actors.” Some plan you have there, Rani!
