American actress Reese Witherspoon has been named Hollywood's highest paid actress in Hollywood Reporter rich list.

The Legally Blonde star makes an estimated 15 to 20 million dollars for any film that she signs up for, reports Contactmusic. This has put the actress at the top of the new list, ahead of Cameron Diaz and Nicole Kidman.

The other actresses to make it to the top ten are Renee Zellweger, Halle Berry and Julia Roberts.

Meanwhile the actress officially ended her seven-year marriage with actor Ryan Phillippe on June 12. The couple finalized their divorce with court documents filed in Los Angeles. Reese had filed for a divorce in 2006, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.

Vidya Balan’s eyes brim over with mischief when you ask her about the rumours surrounding her.

The look on her face has got nothing to do with what the make-up man is trying to do to it. “Even my dress sense or the supposed lack of it can make headlines,” she laughs.

“Maybe those who wrote those things about me had nothing else to write about. And I will not blame them. I had been talking about the same films and same stuff for too long. But now, I have a release coming up, I am doing a couple of films, so can everyone please concentrate on my career?” she asks.

But we wanted this interview to be a sort of ‘un-rumouring’ the rumours surrounding her. So, career baad mein! Shahid first.
Vidya rolls her eyes, and the make-up man gives up trying to apply mascara.

“There is no truth to any of the rumours concerning me and Shahid. He’s a co-star, someone with whom I share a mind-blowing chemistry on screen. And no, the rumours of our affair are not attention grabbing gimmicks to hype up our film either. So, I have learnt to take these things as an occupational hazard. If the rumours were true, well, I wouldn’t have screamed from rooftops, but yes, I wouldn’t have kept it clandestine either,” admits Vidya candidly. But, if they are untrue, didn’t the rumours cause friction between Shahid and her? “No. There are no any such barriers. In fact, on the sets, we used to get along very well. That could be another reason why the rumours flew thick and fast,” clarifies Vidya. But why’s Vidya talking in past tense? “Because the film’s over, and while we do acknowledge each other’s presence, Shahid and I aren’t bumchums or anything.”

On to another topic, then. Can’t you dance, Vidya? “Now, where did that come from?” Well, we heard that for a certain sequence, you took a lot of takes. Her laughter could have floored anyone. “I know. There was even a count – 25 or something,” she says. “Yes, it was a complex shot, with difficult steps. I was not familiar with the format, so, I took a few extra takes. But, I am not apologetic! I’ve heard Charlie Chaplin sometimes used to take 200 takes. Does that make him any less of an actor?” At this point, her make-up man decides “memsaab late ho rahi hai”, so, we leave Vidya to finish her make-up, and enjoy her day out with Radio Mirchi.

Saif Ali Khan, who is known to play rather atypical characters like Sameer in Dil Chahta Hai, Karan Singh Rathod in Ek Haseena Thi, Cyrus Mistry in Being Cyrus and Langda Tyagi in Omkara, is again ready to play a hatke role.

He will play a terrorist in Karan Johar’s next production. The untitled film will be directed by Rang De Basanti writer, Rensil D’Silva.

Says a source close to the film, “The story is a far cry from the usual Karan’s films. There will be no designer glam sham or naach gaana. It is a hard-hitting subject. Karan loved Rensil’s script so much that he decided to produce it. He also gave Rensil the freedom to choose the actors to justify his script. That’s how Rensil decided to cast Saif. He plays a meticulous and urban-educated terrorist. There is also an interesting romantic track between him and the leading lady, Kareena,” adds the source.

Meanwhile, here’s more on the couple’s real life romance. Kareena and Saif are inseparable. Not only do they believe in spending all their free time with each other, but they also help each other out professionally. Now, Bebo has gone to London to help Saif with his first home production. Bebo is treating it like her own baby.

Imtiaz Ali is shooting in UK for Saif’s production house’s debut film, starring Deepika Padukone and Saif. Saif went to meet Bebo all the way from London to Amsterdam where they were together for two days. After that, Kareena accompanied him to London to spend a week with him, while he shot for his home production.

A source says, “Bebo has joined Saif on the sets of his film, which is being directed by Imtiaz. Saif is stressed about his first home production. He is quite occupied as he is also acting in the film. He’s also nervous about his upcoming release.”
When Kareena realised Saif’s anxiety, she decided to be by his side and help him out in every possible way.

“On the spur of the moment, Kareena decided to fly with him to London and spend a week on the sets। She knows Imtiaz Ali well and is also friendly with Saif's business partner, Dinesh. So, it won’t be too difficult for her to take charge of the situation while Saif is occupied with the shoot. She takes a lot of interest in Saif’s work,” adds the source.
